Glenn Morrison and his Dewsbury Rams squad have a real spring in their step as they go in search of a third Kingstone Press Championship victory at home to Whitehaven on Sunday.
The Rams have won both their away games, at Doncaster and Hunslet, while they pushed pre-season favourites Featherstone Rovers all the way in their opening home game.
Morrison will send his side out against Whitehaven with the message to gain a first win in front of their own fans.
Morrison and his coaching staff have instilled a real buzz into the club this season and the camaraderie the squad have was shown after Wednesday’s training session.
The squad, together with club mascot Roger Ram, videoed their own version of dance craze the Harlem Shake, which has taken the internet by storm.
Morrison said: “The boys came to training buzzing and we had our best session all year and they went home buzzing.”
Although pleased at the 14-4 win over Hunslet last Sunday, Morrison insists his side are still gelling and admits the best is still to come.
The coach added: “The defence has been key to our wins and while he are happy to get the points, we are only going to get better the more games we play together.
“Whitehaven lost for the first time last week but they have got some experienced heads in their side with (Jamie) Rooney, (Cain) Southernwood and (Paul) Jackson.
Aaron Brown continued his excellent early season form at Hunslet but Morrison admits he is still to find the perfect combination at half-back for the former Leeds Rhinos academy player.
He said: “Aaron is a quality player and our form player at the moment but we have changed the half-backs a couple of times and still have to find his best partner.”
