Dewsbury Rams made a winning start to the new Championship season with a hard fought 22-16 success over Doncaster at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Two tries each from impressive half-back Aaron Brown and substitute hooker Adam O’Brien plus goals kicked by Scott Spaven (two) and Dale Morton clinched victory over newly promoted opponents.

Dewsbury led 16-6 at half-time and stretched the advantage to 12 points before they withstood a late Dons fightback to collect the winning points.
