Dewsbury Rams progress to Northern Rail Cup semi-finals

DEWSBURY Rams progressed to the semi-finals of the Northern Rail Cup for the first time after dumping holders Batley Bulldogs out in a thrilling derby on Sunday.

The Rams led 8-0 early on but Batley fought back and were 16-8 ahead at half-time.

The Bulldogs held a narrow 22-18 lead after an hour before Dewsbury ran away with things in the final quarter, scoring three unanswered tries to win 38-22.

Dominic Brambani was the star, landing nine goals from nine attempts, while Rams try scorers were James Lockwood (two), Ayden Faal (two) and Luke Blake.

The draw for the semi-finals will be made live on Sky during Thursday night’s televised game between Featherstone and Barrow.
