DEWSBURY Rams defeated Rochdale Hornets 32-10 in their final group game in the Northern Rail Cup at Tetley's Stadium on Sunday.
The Rams ran in six tries, four of which were converted by impressive stand-off Patch Walker, although victory wasn't enough to see Dewsbury progress to the knock-out stages of the competition.
Centre Ayden Faal opened the scoring in the first minute and further tries from Steve Crossley, Ryan Esders and Jamaine Akaidere, with three Walker goals, saw the Rams lead 22-0 at half-time.
James Craven extended the lead early in the second half before Akaidere added a second try on debut. Walker converted the latter to make it 32-0 after 47 minutes.
Rochdale battled bravely and scored late consolation tries through Jonny Leather and Steve McDermott, with Paul Cook adding a conversion.
