Crossbank Methodists have been handed a plum Jack Hampshire Trophy first round tie against neighbours Birstall on Sunday May 17.

Crossbank are gearing up for their first season in the Central Yorkshire League and will relish locking horns with their Premier Division neighbours.

Crossbank have recruited an overseas fast bowler from Australia, who they hope will spearhead their attack in the CYL.

Josh Mastin is currently playing first grade cricket for Leopold in Victoria State.

The club’s continued development work on the clubhouse is on course to finish in early April, when a grand opening is planned.

Crossbank’s winter nets are at Spen Valley High School on Tuesday evenings between 6-7pm for seniors and junior players at Under-11 and Under-13 level.
