Woodlands retained the Solly Sports Crowther Cup thanks to a seven wicket win over Birstall at sun drenched Ossett CC on Bank Holiday Monday.

Holders Woodlands claimed the last nine Birstall wickets for just 36 runs as the Central Yorkshire League outfit slipped from 78-1 to 114 all out.

Birstall had hope when three Woodlands wickets fell cheaply and a fourth with the score on 86 but Jack Carter (25no) and Elliott Richardson (36no) steered them to a second successive Crowther Cup win.
