Clarkson bags hat-trick as Belles seal Shield victory
Battyeford produced an excellent display to book their place in the next round against a strong Ossett side.
Battyeford won promotion to the Premier Division last season and like Town had opened their campaign with a win and two defeats from their three matches.

Hide AdBattyeford opened the scoring after 30 minutes when player of the match Alice Holleworth reacted to a loose ball following a corner to slot home.
Battyeford then turned up the pressure and quickly added to their lead with a debut goal from Charlie Cassidy,
Ossett pulled a goal back when an attacker pounced on a loose ball to open their account but Katie Clarkson restored Battyeford’s two-goal advantage when she lobbed the goalkeeper for her first goal on the stroke of half-time.
Battyeford aimed to protect their lead only to concede early in the second half but the home side went 4-2 ahead when right winger Beth Winsor put Clarkson through for her second.

Hide AdBattyeford appeared in control but were caught again as Ossett made it 4-3 only for Clarkson to fire home soon after, completing her hat-trick with the home side’s fifth goal.
Battyeford Ladies’ are rewarded with a home tie in the next round when they host Ilkley Ladies.
