SUNDAY marks the start of a three-month Testimonial period for Hunslet Hawks player-coach Paul March, granted by the Rugby Football League, for his long service to the game.

March, who came through the ranks at Thornhill Trojans, signed professional forms at Wakefield Trinity in 1995 aged 16 and his 15-year career has seen him play at Trinity, Huddersfield Giants, York City Knights and Hunslet.

His testimonial committee will be selling raffle tickets and souvenir brochures before and after Sunday’s home game with Batley Bulldogs (3pm). The brochure contains a full programme of his testimonial events, including a race night, a golf day, a poker night and a testimonial dinner.

The Testimonial starts on Sunday with a Question of Sport quiz in the Phoenix Bar at South Leeds after the match.

Hunslet’s team will be Paul March, Tommy Haughey and John Oakes while Batley will feature Paul Mennell, Kris Lythe and Danny Maun.

James Deighton from Radio Leeds will chair the quiz.
