Batley Boys returned to winning ways in the Pennine League Championship with a 22-12 success over King Cross Park last Saturday.

The Halifax side surprised Batley when another strong attack saw them break through for a second converted try.

Mick Dyson broke through and sent Adam Bingham over for a try in his first match back after breaking an arm, Dyson missed the conversion.

The home defence remained solid to prevent King Cross from scoring further points but the Boys trailed 12-4 at half-time.
