Bad day for Stars

SAVILE Stars had a bad day at the office in Dales Council League Division B losing by six wickets in a low scoring match with Hepworth and Idle.

Despite the setback Stars held onto second place, a point behind Apperley Bridge, who earned beat Savile’s next opponents, Drighlington.

Savile Stars just couldn’t get going against Hepworth and Idle with no9 Abdul top scoring with 21 as the home side were reduced to 94 in 30.2 overs.

Danny Wilkins claimed 4-33 and Dale Wood 3-21.

It was too much to ask of the Savile Star bowlers but they made a good start to have Hepworth and Idle struggling at 26-4.

However, David McDermott 20no and Dale Wood 52no joined forces to win the match for their side, who moved up to fourth place.
