THORNHILL Trojans try again to play the rarity of a home game – the first for 13 weeks – when they meet Heworth in the National Conference First Division at Overthorpe Park tomorrow (2.30pm).
The visitors are bottom of the table after 14 defeats in 14 games. The Trojans won there 36-24 in September and would no doubt welcome a repeat as they seek to end a run of seven successive league defeats.
A win could move them up two places and out of the relegation zone.
Of Thornhill’s 11 remaining league fixtures, eight are at home and this could be important in the battle to avoid going down for the second successive season.
Shaw Cross Sharks try again to play their Carnegie Challenge Cup first round tie against Conference Premier side Leigh Miners Rangers at Leeds Road (1.30pm) after last weekend’s postponement.
