TOMORROW Thornhill Trojans are holding a re-union to celebrate their 16-14 Challenge Cup victory at Sheffield Eagles 10 years ago.
Almost all Thornhill’s team that memorable day have confirmed they will be there while it is believed two players from the Sheffield team, Kevin Crouthers and Leon Williamson, are also attending as guests of Jimmy Gittins.

The evening starts at 7.30pm at Thornhill Sports and Community Centre and everyone is welcome.

The club has produced a special souvenir reunion brochure which will be on sale tomorrow night. It includes contributions from RFL chief executive Nigel Wood and Sheffield Eagles chief executive Mark Aston.

The club are particulaly keen for players who featured in the cup run that season, but didn’t play at Sheffield, to attend. They are Richard Bainton, Paul Goodall, Danny Howley, Mark Butterfield, Shane Day, James Folan and Craig Wood.

Tomorrow also sees a reunion of the Thornhill Under-13 team which beat Sheffield Schools 36-4 in the curtain raiser.

The team was coached by Paul and David March and contained future Dewsbury Rams players Luke Haigh, Danny Ratcliffe and Joe Waters.
