Season ticket and shirt sales offer timely cash injection

DEWSBURY Rams will review matters regarding the sale of their bargain season tickets after passing their target of 600.
By the middle of this week the Rams had almost reached the 650 mark, which compares very well with a total of 263 last season as people have responded to the £40 and £20 offer and sustained marketing.
The bargain prices ended on New Year's Day but the Dewsbury directors will review matters and see what the position is regarding finances and the offer could yet be extended.
Rams' chairman Mark Sawyer remarked: "We have to balance the books and are asking people to support the other friendly matches. But we are also looking to see if we can retain the ticket offer next year.
"A number of people have worked very hard to sell the tickets and the volunteers have also done an outstanding job. Without all this hard work the club wouldn't be here."
The Rams are also aware that 200 regular supporters have not taken up the ticket offer and feel some can still be tempted.
It is interesting that the cheap tickets attracted 15 supporters of Wakefield Trinity supporters, who won't always clash with Dewsbury home games, while a Bradford supporter has taken five as they all regard it excellent value for money when their own clubs aren't playing or are too far away to follow.
Another boost for the Rams is that their new jerseys have proved very popular and they sold more than £3,000 worth in 24 hours, which is a good deposit towards paying the bill for the shirts.
The launch night on the Tuesday before Christmas proved very popular with supporters, while there were also brisk sales at the club shop on Christmas Eve and more than 100 have now been sold.
Mr Sawyer said: "We have tried to keep the prices down and for Drema members the jerseys are little more than cost price."
