MIRFIELD Parish Cavaliers face a stern test at Methley in the new-look Jack Hampshire Trophy on Sunday.
The Central Yorkshire League's premier cup competition is now open to the top 16 first teams from last season and Parish have been handed a tough start against a Methley side who expect to challenge for honours.
Parish picked up their first premier win of the season last week, beating Ossett by five runs and will look for more success at Liversedge tomorrow.
Ossett, who won the trophy in 2004 and 2006, also face a tough first round tie at home to Townville.
They will prepare tomorrow with a home game against Scholes, who are bottom of the premier.
The remaining 11 first teams and top five second teams will compete for the Barry Winstanley Cup this time, which would appear to offer Hopton Mills and Moorlands the chance of a decent cup run.
Both are on the road, with Mills at first division leaders Buttershaw St Paul's while Moorlands go to East Ardsley.
Second division Woodkirk host Wakefield St Michael's A, while Mirfield Parish A pit their wits at home to Stanley's first team.
In Division One tomorrow, Hopton entertain Carlton and Moorlands travel to Wrenthorpe A. In Division Two Woodkirk visit East Ardsley A.
Hanging Heaton's Priestley Cup tie at Yeadon is set to go ahead this Sunday (1pm). Yeadon's High Street ground was waterlogged last Sunday and with no prospect of the game starting on Monday, it was moved.
With the Bradford League keen to get the game played, if Yeadon's home game with East Bierley tomorrow does not go ahead the tie will be switched to Bennett Lane. Spectators can call Hanging Heaton (01924 461804) on Sunday to find out where the game is.
Heaton visit Saltaire in Bradford League Division One tomorrow (1.30pm) aiming to bounce back from a 22-run loss to East Bierley.
Thornhill and Westborough's foray into the Huddersfield League Sykes Cup proved a damp squib as Sunday's game at Thongsbridge was washed out.
The club had hoped to re-arrange the first round tie but due to some players being unavailable last Monday and more on Tuesday they had to concede.
It's back to league business for Thornhill and Westborough tomorrow and they entertain Leymoor in the Huddersfield Central League Premier Section (2pm).
Mirfield have made a terrific start in the premier with two maximum wins. Pat Neal's men will be looking to make it a hat-trick tomorrow at home to Green Moor.
