HOPTON Mills continued to improve in Central Yorkshire League Division One with a third win of the season.
Hopton beat Wrenthorpe A by six wickets, chasing down their target with two overs to spare, as they moved fourth-bottom.
Gary Senior claimed 5-88 from 15 overs and with Richard Myers (2-58 from 19) also bowling a tidy spell, Mills dismissed Wrenth
orpe for 209.
Although Hopton lost Ijaz Ashraf without scoring, they fought back with good partnerships between Chris Scott and Paul Moorhouse (24), together with Scott and Andy Moorhouse (21).
Scott was out for 60 but Steve Bland ensured there would be no slip-up as he steered Hopton to victory with 55 not out.
Woodkirk gave their promotion hopes a lift with a 22-run win at home to Methley A.
Opener Gary Close hit 29 and Altaf Patel 31 before Steven Dawber fired a fine 54 and Siddik Mulla 37 to see Woodkirk reach 199 all out in the 49th over.
Richard Smart top scored with 39 for Methley A but the visitors were dismissed for 167.
Patrick Hinchcliffe (3-18) and Roy Trueman (3-19) impressed.

Nelson’s innings lacked any real spark and No8 Sohail Raz top scored with an unbeaten 42.

Moorlands seemed well set at 141-3, after 22 from Andrew Fortis and 37 by Paul James, before Nelson roared back.
Moorlands, despite 57 by Alan Sumner, stuttered to close on 164-8.
Second-bottom Gildersome slipped to a 16-run defeat against Birstall A.
Richard Hobson 51 helped Birstall to 149 with Mel Wood taking a stylish 5-38 .
Gildersome opener Barry Wood scored 35, Ibrahim added 22 and Sean Horan 19 as Gildersome were bowled out for 133.
Dave Hilton (4-47) and James Tolson (5-52) shared the honours.
