EMILY Freeman impressed for Great Britain in the European team championships in Leiria, Portugal, last weekend.
Freeman, formerly of Mirfield, won the 100m race in a fine time of 11.42, against top European opposition.

It’s an indication of the excellent form she is in as the previous Sunday (June 14) at the Golden League meeting in Berlin, she won the 100m race in 11.33 seconds – not only a season’s best but also a personal best.

The Wakefield Harrier athlete, who won a Reporter sports award last year, also ran the third leg of the 100m relay for Great Britain and helped them to finish second behind Russia.
