BIRSTALL maintain their interest in the Central Yorkshire League Premier Division title race after a 109-run win at Ossett last Saturday.
Opener Rob McFarlane hit 14 fours and three sixes in his 94 while Vikram Rathour struck eight fours and five sixes on his way to 98.

Paul Marlow added an unbeaten 27 while Nick Bresnan hit 40 before Birstall declared on an impressive 303-4 with five overs to spare.

Birstall’s bowlers brought home the victory dismissing Ossett for 194 in 40.5 overs. McFarlane completed his excellent day with 3-11 in just 3.5 overs to sweep through the tail. Earlier John Carruthers had chipped in with 3-59 and Paul Blakeley took 2-64.
