MORE ARRESTS IN SHANNON CASE
TWO women have been arrested by police investigating the abduction of Shannon Matthews.
This morning (Friday) detectives arrested a 25-year-old on suspicion of assisting an offender and a 49-year old on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Dewsbury MP Shahid Malik has praised police for their 'thorough' investigation and urged people to stay calm.
He said: "The way in which the police have conducted investigations has been incredibly thorough and the important thing now is that they are allowed to continue to go about that task undisturbed. The effort, resources and commitment has been nothing short of exceptional.
"The investigation is now bearing fruit and it's essential that people remain patient, stay calm, continue to provide information and leave it to the experts."
