TWO women arrested yesterday in connection with the investigation into the disappearance of Dewsbury Moor schoolgirl Shannon Matthews have been released.
The pair are believed to be 25-year-old Amanda Hyett, the sister of nine-year-old Shannon's stepdad Craig Meehan, who lives next door to Shannon's family home in Moorside Road, and his mother, Alice Meehan, 49.

Ms Hyett was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and Ms Meehan on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Police have released them on bail pending further inquiries.

Craig Meehan appeared at Dewsbury Magistrates' Court on Thursday to face 11 charges of possessing indecent images of children.

Craig's uncle Michael Donovan, 39, of Lidgate Gardens, Batley Carr, has been charged with the kidnap and false imprisonment of Shannon.
