A woman who claims to have no willpower lost nearly a third of her body weight in just over a year.
Christine Hartley, 42, has lost more than five stones after joining a slimming club in February last year.
Miss Hartley, of Long Lane, Earlsheaton, said: “I decided to join both for my health and the way I looked.
“ I had never really been that big before but I decided I had to do something about it and I’m so glad I did.
“I can now get clothes off the peg – it’s also given me much more confidence.”
Christine attends the Ossett Weight Watchers group.
Sarah Swift, who runs the group said: “ She’s done amazingly well. To do it in such a short space of time, she’s improved her life and she’s getting more confident day-by-day.”
After slimming down to 10st 9lbs, the mother-of-two said: “I feel like I did in my early thirties – I have bags more energy.
“I’m not finished yet. My plan is to get down to 10 stone.
“When you join a group like that, it makes it much easier to lose the weight, as you have people who are in the same boat as you.
“My family have also been very supportive of me during the time – I couldn’t have done it without them.”
She also had some words of advice for those considering weight loss.
“I feel 10 times better – if anyone is thinking of joining one of these clubs – I would just say ‘do it’.
“I have virtually no will-power at all, so if I can do it, I’m sure anyone can.”
