A GREENGROCER has got into the festive spirit by setting up a Christmas display in an empty fridge.

Andrew White, who runs Mick’s Fruit And Veg in Huddersfield Road, Mirfield, has put the display together in the broken fridge under his front counter.

He made the display himself and this is the first year he has had it on show.

“It goes with the coming festivities and it’s something completely different,” he said.

The display is split into three parts with a snowy church scene on the left, that features a church Mr White made himself.

In the centre there is a Biblical nativity scene starring Mary, Joseph, the baby Jesus and their gift-bearing visitors, the Three Wise Men.

Then on the right there is colourful Lapland scene with Santa and his most trusted red-nosed reindeer Rudolph.

Mr White has displays in the fridge throughout the year and changes them with the seasons.

“My fridge broke so I just use it for all sorts of things,” he said.

“I do different scenes in there, so when it’s summer I will put a summer scene in there and when it’s autumn I will put an autumnal scene in there.”
