Fans of The Only Way is Essex had a “reem” time when heartthrob Joey Essex came to town.
The reality TV star signed copies of his new book, Being Reem, at WHSmiths in the White Rose Shopping Centre today (Tuesday).
Up to 350 lucky fans got to met Joey and have their book signed by the reality TV star.
The 23-year-old, who finished fourth on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!, said he was happy to be in Leeds.
“I have just come back from Brazil filming a special for Educating Joey and then I have come straight into doing my book tour,” he said.
“It has been full on, but I like going around meeting the fans.”
Telling his rollercoaster story for the first time – from his early life and the devastating loss of his mother to finding fame on TOWIE and life after the jungle – Joey claimed the book gave a real insight into his life.
He said: “People can expect to read things about my life from a young age and all about me growing up. I have had some massive ups and downs but there is a lot of laughter and funny times as well.”
When asked how Leeds compared to his home county of Essex, he said: “Yeah, it is different but it is still full of really cool people.
“It is just nice to get out of your own area. You meet people who did not think they would ever meet you, which makes it more exciting. They think it is unbelievable which is cool.”
