Race for Life comes to Thornhill

Students from Thornhill Community Academy backed the vital work of Cancer Research UK when they took part in a special Race for Life event at the school. Over 400 pupils in years 7-9 completed the 5k distance on the playing field at a walk, jog. All finishers received a medal for their efforts.

“It was a real team effort and a great day for students and staff raising money for a seriously good cause. Most of us know someone who has been touched by cancer and we all have our special reasons for taking part and wanting to help more people survive,” said head Bev Matthews.
