Police raid cannabis farm in Cleckheaton

A cannabis farm was discovered by police during a raid in Cleckheaton this morning.

Police said drugs were removed from a house on Prospect Villas after officers forced entry at around 10.30am.

The house was empty and police are trying to trace the occupants.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Officers from the Batley and Spen Safer Neighbourhood’s Policing Team executed a warrant today under the Misuse of Drugs Act at an address in Cleckheaton.

“At the address, a sophisticated cannabis farm was discovered, and a large amount of drugs were seized.

“A forensic examination of the property was carried out, and enquiries are ongoing to trace the occupants. Officers acted upon information supplied via Crimestoppers.”
