A WELL-DRESSED pensioner arrived in Mirfield as part of a 7,900 mile trek across the UK.
Andy Peddle, 70, is on his way to completing an 18 month sponsored walk to raise money for the Salvation Army.
He is planning to visit every Salvation Army centre in the country and arrived at the Mirfield branch dressed in a top hat and tails.
Mr Peddle, 70, said: “The Salvation Army’s saying – ‘Heart to God, hand to man’ – has inspired me to take on this challenge. It will be a personal pilgrimage too – we are renting out our home and my wife will be re-locating to Leeds whilst I am raising the money.
“A support van is following me on my trek so I can have a break and sleep wherever needed.”
