A super-slimming couple from Thornhill had their hard work recognised when they reached the final of a national weight loss competition.

Sinead and Richard Kendrick, from Back Lane, Grange Moor, were one of just 30 couples around the country to be shortlisted as Slimming World’s Couple of the Year.

Mr and Mrs Kendrick may have missed out on the title, but the duo are still delighted with their weight loss success.

Since joining the Thornhill branch last year, the couple has shed a combined total of 7st 5lb.

Richard, 36, said: “We were delighted to be part of the finals but, if we’re honest, we already feel like we’ve won the biggest prize we could wish for because losing weight has completely changed our lives.”
