Help make a Mirfield teenager’s wheelchair wish come true
A remarkable teenager has made a wish that she hopes the people of Mirfield will help her make come true.
Mary Hinde, who suffers from cerebral palsy, wants to raise £16,000 for a new wheelchair that will change her life.
Her mum Sarah has launched the Mary’s Wish appeal to raise the money for a state-of-the-art chair that uses infra-red technology so that Mary can control it herself.
Sarah, a district nurse, said: “It will make a big difference to Mary because it will give her some independence to move to where she wants to go.”
Mary, 17, needs round the clock care and has a team of personal assistants. She goes to Hollybank Trust in Far Common Road for respite visits and enjoys doing outdoor activities at Shepley Bridge Marina.
So far around £9,000 has been raised and several events are being planned.
Anyone who wants to help can email firstname.lastname@example.org or call Sarah on 0798 355 5610. Donations can be made via Paypal to the same email address. More details can be found on the ‘Mary’s Wish’ page on Facebook page.
