Four hospitalised after Upper Hopton crash

Four people were taken to hospital after a car flipped onto its roof.

Emergency services were called to Upper Hopton last night (Thursday) to reports of a crash.

The driver of a Renault Clio had apparently lost control of the car in Hopton Lane near the junction with Hill Park.

Firefighters from Dewsbury and Mirfield were called at around 11.40pm to help free a passenger trapped in the back seat.

They had to cut off the roof and part of the side of the car.

The man who was cut free was taken by ambulance to Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield.

Three others were treated by paramedics and taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.
