TEA PARTY: Children at Childs Play Nursery in Dewsbury meet their new teachers.

Child’s Play Day Nursery in Dewsbury hosted a transition tea party, inviting all the teachers from the children’s new schools to take part.

Teachers from St Paulinus, Thornhill Junior and Infant School, Pentland, Overthorpe Academy and Batley Parish School all attended the event.

The teachers explored the children’s development files and talked to them about their interests and new schools.

A nursery spokesman said: “The teachers commented on how much easier it was to see them all together.

“One of the teachers said she had visited a child at home and the child did not talk, but at nursery was a little chatter box. This allowed her to meet the real child.”
