Hospice cash on cards thanks to UK Greetings

As part of Kirkwood Hospice’s 30th Anniversary celebrations, the greeting cards company took up the challenge of designing a unique limited edition birthday card to help Kirkwood Hospice raise vital funds.

The eye-catching card was chosen by patients, staff and volunteers at the hospice from a shortlist of designs produced by the creative team at UK Greetings.

Thanks to Tim Nixon, of Bradford-based print and wrapping firm Wrapid Manufacturing, the hospice has had 3,000 cards produced free of charge.

This means that 100% of every card sale will go directly toward helping patients and their families being cared for by Kirkwood.

The one-off design is now on sale at Kirkwood Hospice and in its 21 shops, with all the proceeds going to the charity.

The opportunity came about after Katie Ellis, who has helped to raise thousands of pounds for Kirkwood, introduced the hospice team to Catherine Dodd, UK Greetings’ studio director.

Kirkwood fundraiser Lyndsey Richardson said: “It’s been a great experience to work with UK Greetings. Catherine and her team have been so enthusiastic and really got behind the idea. They have offered their time and expertise to support us from the very start and have been really open to our ideas and feedback.

“The creative flair of the team working on this project has produced a special and unique card which will help us to raise lots of money for Kirkwood in our 30th anniversary year.”
