A Heckmondwike business is offering local flood victims the chance to purchase vital water-resistant building materials at a discount.

Womersleys is a distributor of Lime Green’s lime-based products including mortar, plaster and paint which provide long-term protection from water damage.

Home owners and businesses affected by the recent floods in West Yorkshire will be able to buy items at a 20 per cent reduction to help them get back on their feet and prevent future damage.

“Flooding in parts of West Yorkshire has become more frequent over recent years. We’ve seen just how bad the floodwater damage has been at first hand, affecting properties and businesses right across the area. Lime Green and ourselves wanted to find a practical way of helping those affected and to help them improve their defences in the future,” said Mark Womersley, who stocks the Shropshire-based firm’s products at his Walkley Lane depot.

Lime Green has supported Mark’s discount scheme by ensuring that all items comply with the Environment Agency’s flood repair guidelines. Customers may also be eligible for a local authority grant to help with flood defence costs.

Lime Green owners Simon and James Ayres have fully backed the initiative and are keen to promote lime’s role in protecting buildings from flood damage.
