Gun used during Mirfield incident

A gun was shown during an altercation in Mirfield.

A resident was confronted by a man with a firearm when they answered the door of their home on Kitson Hill Road last Tuesday October 15.

The resident was able to close and lock the door but a vehicle was damaged during the incident.

DI Andy Leonard said it was an isolated incident and that Dewsbury and Mirfield NPT was increasing high-visibility patrols in the area.

He said: “The firearm was not discharged. A vehicle was damaged by stones or slabs that were thrown at a window.

“Two men have been arrested and further enquiries are ongoing.

The arrested men were released on police bail.
