Mirfield’s Creative Arts Hub will be running sessions in Batley and Mirfield – aimed at children of all ages.

Artists Karen Stansfield and Damian Clark will be running the Arts Skills Academy at Batley Art Gallery next week, which has been funded through the Young People’s Holiday Activity Scheme.

Sessions for youngsters aged eight to 12 will take place on mornings, 10am-1pm.

Workshops for 13-year-olds to 19-year-olds will be held in the afternoon, 2pm-5pm.

Budding artists can try their hand at portraiture, learning how to draw realistic facial likenesses and expressions, tomorrow (Monday).

Further sessions include workshops based on drawing dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures, while artists will help participants create their own impressionist-inspired paintings and drawings on Friday.

Activity sessions at Creative Arts Hub in Mirfield will also run from Wednesday to Friday.

The sessions will include dinosaur-themed painting and creating cartoon portrait masks, and will take place 10am-noon and 1pm-3pm.

Places are limited so booking is essential.
