THE Health and Safety Executive has confirmed it has opened a full investigation into the explosion at Fox’s Biscuits on Wednesday.
Six people ended up in hospital after the blast in a diesel tank – one suffering burns to his legs.
The man, a contractor working at the site, was taken to Pinderfields Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
The five other people were taken to Dewsbury and District Hospital as a precaution for smoke inhalation, but were later discharged.
Health and Safety Executive officers visited the factory in Wellington Street, Batley, on Wednesday to open their investigation, which is likely to take some time.
