Firefighters were called to put out a car that was on fire in Scout Hill in the early hours this morning (Thursday).

The owners of the car called Dewsbury firefighters to put out the blaze at around 12.55am.

It was parked on the drive of a house on Ravenshouse Road.

Crew commander Peter Bostock said: “The fire completely gutted the car, it will be a write-off.”

The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
