Two men have been arrested after a driver was threatened with a weapon following a collision this afternoon (Wednesday).

A car collided with a blue Transit van on Savile Bridge near the Wickes store in Dewsbury town centre at 4.20pm.

A police spokesperson said: “It is believed the driver of the van threatened the other driver with a weapon believed to be a tool. Two people from the van have been arrested for public order offences.”

No one was hurt in the collision, which took place at low speed.

Traffic built up after the incident but is now clearing.
