THE owner of a former Dewsbury pub has lodged an appeal to stop its demolition.
In January, Kirklees Council served a legal notice on the Old Anchor’s owner which ordered him to demolish the building in Mill Street West and clear the site.
If the owner failed to act, the council would have been able to send in its own teams to carry out the work.
But the owner has lodged an appeal against the notice.
A hearing will be held before Dewsbury magistrates on March 30.
