A DEWSBURY drummer has been keeping the beat at one of Britain’s biggest awards ceremonies.

Claudio Kron, who was born in Brazil, was invited to perform at the official afterparty of the Brit Awards at the O2 in London.

He said: “I felt absolutely brilliant because it’s an event of high calibre – one of the biggest in the UK.”

Mr Kron performed with fellow percussionist Femi, samba dancers and stilt-walkers for more than 1,000 people.

He met celebrities such as Peter Jones, Michael McIntyre and Corinne Bailey Rae.

Mr Kron’s next big gig will be in Dewsbury, drumming with 100 children from local schools for Red Nose Day.
