Police called to group of men with weapons on Dewsbury street

Police are appealing for information following disorder in Dewsbury last night. 

At around 10pm last night (19 March), police were called to reports of a large group of people gathered on Pilgrim Crescent in Dewsbury. 

Officers attended and found a group of males brandishing weapons - the group soon dispersed.

Three men have been arrested in connection with this incident, two aged 30 and another 33, and remain in police custody at the time. 

Detective Inspector Mark Walker, of Kirklees CID, said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the disorder which took place on Pilgrim Crescent in Dewsbury last night. 

“We are working closely with the community and our partners and there will be increased Neighbourhood Policing Patrols in the area to reassure local residents. 

“I would like to appeal to anyone who witnessed the disorder last night or has any further information to come forward and contact the police to assist with our investigation.”
