CRASH VICTIM James Haigh.

The case against a driver accused of causing the death of a motorcylist was adjourned yesterday (Thursday) after police failed to share key evidence with his solicitor.

Daniel Harbidge is accused of causing the death of James Haigh by driving without due care and attention in Dewsbury on January 2.

Mr Haigh, 32, of Dalton, had been riding his Suzuki motorbike to work at Richard Allen Engineering in Shaw Cross when the crash happened.

He was taken to Dewsbury and District Hospital after the crash in Huddersfield Road, but died of his injuries.

Harbidge, 19, of Blacker Lane, Netherton, is said to have been driving a VW Golf carelessly before the crash.

But Kirklees Magistrates’ Court heard that his solicitor had not been provided a copy of a police reconstruction report, despite several requests.

The case was adjourned until Wednesday morning.

Harbidge was bailed until the next hearing.
