A construction firm has won the Small and Medium Enterprises award on Friday, October 12.

D Croft & Sons Ltd impressed judges by improving their business through implementing new practices.

The Mirfield based company incorporated a programme of mentorship and personnel development reviews, introduced new ways of working prompted by their own staff, extended their accreditations and training and strived to become market leaders.

Within 12 months, they turned a company struggling with market pressures into a successful organisation with an enviable & diverse client base.

D Croft & Son Ltd has been a domestic based construction company over the last 35 years but over the last three years has established themselves in the public sector.

They have more than three decades of experience as general building contractors, property maintenance and a refurbishment company.

The firm has co-ordinated up to 30 building technicians and sub-contractors at various sites across the Yorkshire & Humberside region acting as principal or sub-contractors.

Director John Croft said: “I was highly delighted to win it this year against some decent contractors.

“We are also invited to the national construction excellence awards in London on November 30.

“We have been shortlisted on the back of our regional success so it is exciting times for the company.
