Nicola Haigh, who has cerebellar ataxia, which causes a loss of muscle coordination and means she struggles to walk, says she has not been able to go about her daily life since the vehicles were damaged.

Mrs Haigh, who lives with her husband Trevor on Albion Street in Liversedge, said: “People do not understand what sort of devastation things like this can have. I am disabled and now I have got no car and I can’t get out.”

The 50-year-old, who used the car to do the shopping and other errands, said the couple had also been left shaken as a result of the incident.

She said; “My husband looks out the window every single night.

“We have got to keep the lights on now too. It’s destroying both of us.”

The crime took place at around 4.10am on Sunday, November 6.

“He ran outside putting water on it and realised that his car was also on fire.

“We had two old cars that were perfectly serviced and now they’ve both been written off.”

She added: “In the space of a quarter of an hour, this destroyed our lives.
