The benefits of businesses using social media and networking will be explored next month – and firms are being urged to get involved.

Kirklees Business Week, which is organised by the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, will be held from October 13 to 17.

The focal point of the week will be the Kirklees Business Conference, which takes place on Wednesday October 14 at the John Smith’s Stadium in Huddersfield.

It will feature a full day of business-specific seminars and an exhibition involving more than 50 companies.

Talks on manufacturing, international trade and the digital industry will be held throughout the week.

An exciting line up of speakers has also been revealed including Educating Yorkshire’s Michael Steer, who will give his view on the state of education in Kirklees.

He said: “It is vital that we have links with businesses and a mutual understanding of the skills and attributes employers are looking for.”

Most of the seminars throughout the week are free.
