Billy Connolly has proved to be a hit with audiences in Kirklees as his Huddersfield gig sold out in just 75 minutes.
As we announced in our papers this week the Scottish comedian will appear at Huddersfield Town Hall on February 8.
Tickets went on sale today and all 1,200 tickets sold out in 75 minutes.
The record sales break the time previously set by comedian Peter Kay whose Huddersfield gig sold out in four hours.
And the online box office has proved extremely popular with more than two thirds of the tickets sold through the website. The online server experienced exceptionally busy periods in line with those caused when very popular events go on sale at larger venues.
Six box offices were also open for people to purchase tickets in person.
Huddersfield Town Hall is the smallest venue of Billy Connolly’s tour.
