Baking their way to charity success

Enterprising youngsters raised more than £420 for children’s hospice the Forget Me Not Trust by setting up a cake stand at Dewsbury Market on Saturday.

The girls, from across Dewsbury, Mirfield and Batley, baked and then sold buns as part of the National Citizens Scheme and chose the charity themselves. National Citizens Scheme team leader Sofia Buncy said: “The girls showed a lot of initiatvie and everyone was really impressed.”
