A FARMER was airlifted to hospital after a tractor overturned on her.
The vehicle toppled as the 53-year-old, from Whitley, was cutting grass in a field off Denby Lane, Grange Moor.

Firefighters and paramedics were called out at 1.15pm on Monday.

Dewsbury fire station watch manager Graham Calcraft said: "She hit a hole in a field, the tractor turned over and she was trapped.

"As it turned over she suffered injuries to her neck and back and knocked herself out. The glass had broken and we managed to get her out without using cutting equipment."

The woman was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary by Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Although she had heavy bruising, her injuries were not life-threatening and she was described as stable.
