PARKING problems around Westborough High School will be looked at as part of expansion plans, councillors have agreed.
People living on Stockhill Street handed in a petition calling for action over parking near the school.

It said staff members already had to park on the street and it would only get worse when the school was expanded under the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) scheme.

The petition asked councillors to build parking measures into the BSF plans.

In a report to Kirklees cabinet, highways officers said if the plans went ahead, they would make sure there was appropriate on-site parking, off-site measures and a travel plan to reduce car journeys to and from the school.

But it said the road did not meet the criteria for introducing waiting restrictions.

Cabinet members approved the suggestions made in the report.
