DEWSBURY'S Tory candidate says his election campaign will not be funded by Lord Ashcroft.
Simon Reevell was responding to a letter from Labour MP Shahid Malik demanding that the Conservatives come clean about the peer's funding of their party.

Mr Malik said: "We know for a fact now that Ashcroft has been pouring millions into Conservative campaigns through an offshore tax haven. It's taken 10 years for David Cameron and the Conservative Party to reveal the truth."

Mr Reevell said as far as he was aware no funding had come from Lord Ashcroft or his company, Bearwood Corporate Services. He said money raised for the Conservatives in the North was spent in the North.

He added: "Mr Malik should stop moaning and drum up support for his own campaign."
