The tip-off included the full names and addresses of ten suspected drug dealers in the area, as well as information about assets worth more than £1m.
It contained allegations of money laundering and supplying illegal substances to minors.
It
also included the description and registration number of a car allegedly used to drop off drugs in the area.
This week police in Dewsbury pledged to act on the information after we passed the details to them.
Sgt Steve Forrest, of Dewsbury and Mirfield Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT), said: "We will always act on information like this, about drug dealing, that comes to the attention of the Neighbourhood Policing Team.
"In order to obtain a drugs warrant we have got to corroborate the information.
"I'll ask my staff for the Westtown area to have a look at that and if we can corroborate that information with other areas such as housing, there's a possibility we can ask for warrants under the misuse of drugs act.
"We will always take information seriously."
Sgt Forrest said the police had an ongoing programme for carrying out drugs warrants in Dewsbury and Mirfield.
He said: "We recognise that when we have got drug-taking within the community it undermines the basic fabric of the community."
Anyone with any information about drug dealing in the Westtown area, or any other, is asked to contact Dewsbury NPT on 01924 431033 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
