DEWSBURY magistrates have refused Craig Meehan's fourth application for bail.
The former partner of Shannon Matthew's mother has been remanded in custody since his arrest on child porn charges on April 2.

Meehan, 22, of Moorside Road, is charged with 11 specimen offences of possession of indecent images of children.

It is alleged that he possessed 140 indecent images of children graded at levels one to four – on a scale in which one is the least serious and five is the most serious.

During a hearing on Wednesday morning, Meehan was told he would be remanded in custody until his next appearance at the court on July 23.

Three earlier applications for bail, made on April 11, 18 and 23, were also refused.

Meehan has pleaded not guilty to all the charges and is due to stand trial on September 8.
